Electronic Repository Management System Now Imports Directly From Google, Office 365, Yammer
Atlanta (June 24, 2014) – OrcaTec, a pre-eminent provider of predictive coding and advanced analytics for corporations, law firms and governments, today announced its ability to proactively process Microsoft Office 365, Google apps and other cloud-stored data for investigations, compliance, information governance and even push-button eDiscovery.
OrcaTec Echo™, the company’s Electronic Repository Management System, can now capture data for a company from its employees’ use of Google applications, including Gmail, GoogleDocs, and GoogleTalk; Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Yammer; and other cloud-based enterprise tools. The client company can then immediately use OrcaTec’s complete suite of advanced analytic and predictive coding tools on that information for exploratory data analysis, HR issues, litigation readiness, and supervision, as well as on-demand eDiscovery.
“Storage in the cloud is good until you actually need to do something with the data,” said OrcaTec CTO and Chief Scientist Herbert L. Roitblat, Ph.D. “There isn’t anybody in the cloud who’s going to stop and burn you a disk. You’re going to have to download the information yourself. That’s an awfully slow way to get access to 300GB of information you need now.”
These cloud tools, like the traditional archives that they replace, he noted, are great for storage but, despite marketing messages to the contrary, are not good at making data findable.
